1/20 is a compelling collaborative portraiture project between visionary make-up artist Keely Mangham and award-winning photographer Rory Lindsay.
Mangham and Lindsay have been collaborating for over a year, challenging one another to develop an unusual series of portraits. The concept centers on how the appearance of a single face (that of model, Annabel Simpson) could be altered, simply through the use of make-up, lighting and expression.
The result is a series of 20 portraits depicting an array of personas, some beautiful, some haunting, some absurd, but all striking.
Mangham’s make-up and styling has drawn inspiration from music, pop culture and iconic fashion imagery, while Lindsay has brought stylized technique, complex lighting techniques and innovative post-production with minute attention to detail.
The resulting images attest to the enduring creative alliance of model, photographer and make-up artist.
